Flex Band Training:

Erie FC often incorporates Flex Band Training in its practice, conditioning, and clinic sessions. Training with flex bands incorporates all aspects of a comprehensive exercise program - cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility.

Cardiovascular training involves conditioning the heart and lungs to work more effectively, while often aiding in burning calories and losing weight.

Strength training is necessary to build stronger muscles. Stronger muscles can improve energy, posture, balance, and coordination.

Flexibility training, often overlooked, is one of the most important components in increasing and sustaining athletic performance. At the least, flexibility allows an athlete to gain greater range of motion and is essential to aid in injury prevention.

EFC's Certified Sports & Conditioning Specialist has developed a specialized Flex Band Training program that improves all aspects of the comprehensive training program. This, in turn, leads to an increase in each athlete's health and athletic performance.

Water: An Essential Nutrient

Water: An Essential Nutrient
Some Functions of Water
  • Regulates body temperature
  • Removes wastes from body
  • Carries nutrients & oxygen to cells
  • Carries glucose to cells for energy
  • Provided moisture to tissues & skin
  • Cushions joints & Strengthens muscles
Interesting Facts

Youngsters have an increased risk of dehydration because they sweat less than adults; and therefore, are unable to adequately cool their bodies or recognize hydration needs as quickly.

Water is a better choice for hydration than sugary drinks, sweetened juices, or caffeinated beverages.

Some Problems of Inadequate Hydration

Decreased coordination - increases chances of sports-related injuries
Decreased regulation of body temperature - increases chances of heat exhaustion
